Fujifilm Announces Latest Round of Firmware Updates For 5 Cameras

Fujifilm, sticking with the program and reputation that they have developed since entering the mirrorless cameras market all those years ago, has announced new firmware updates. The new updates are available for 5 cameras in the Fujifilm lineup including the GFX 50s, X100F and X-Pro2.

As per usual, the updated firmware addressed a number of optimizations and issues that the company was not specific about. But the primary focus of this update appeared to be improving some glitches while shooting in manual focus mode on these cameras. The first killed an issue where a repeated half shutter press could cause the focus point to move. The second, an issue in AF-S mode caused a similar issue, with the focus point being moved without the photographer's intention.

The update is identical across all 5 of the cameras, addressing the same exact issues, though each camera is on different firmware versions. This update for example on the X-Pro2 is version 3.11, while on a newer body like the X100F and X-T20 this is just firmware version 1.02. So don't get caught up on that, the same issue is being fixed across all 5 cameras.

It is a strength of the Fuji system that the various cameras share so much in common, that allows Fujifilm to develop fixes for issues and in a case like this, find themselves in the relatively easy position of updating their entire current generation product stack once. Rather than needing special fixes for each camera individually (though obviously that is required at times as well).

If you own one of the following cameras, you can download the firmware update for your camera directly from Fujifilm by clicking the corresponding link below.

So there you have it, what Fujifilm's latest updates will be addressing and where you can find the downloads.
