New cameras are typically available for pre-order, and the camera is not listed as "IN STOCK" on our website or in our NYC Superstore until all pre-orders have been shipped to the customers who ordered the camera, and all pre-orders are shipped in the order in which they are received. As new cameras from all manufacturers are usually shipped in smaller quantities when initially released, and we may have more pre-orders than cameras shipped by the manufacturer, it can usually take multiple batches of camera shipments from the manufacturer to cover all pre-orders and the following shipments can then be available for purchase.

The cameras have been shipping for some time from Fujifilm, and we have been filling pre-orders in the order in which they were received, so customers who obtained the cameras have been able to use and/or review the cameras at t heir discretion. This is typical for all items available for pre-order. As such, is is the reason we state if you know you wish to obtain the item, the fastest way to obtain it is to pre-order it at your earliest convenience. If you wish to wait for the item to be in stock before you place your order, then we recommend either clicking the white "Notify When In Stock" or "Request Stock Alert" button on our website, or periodically check the website for an update in the camera's inventory status.

The main difference is items listed as "IN STOCK" usually ship the same day or next day, and you may view your shipping option to see the estimated arrival date for your purchase. As such, once you place your order, you generally know when to expect its arrival. However, if you are sure you want a specific item and you need it as soon as possible, while you may not be given an exact arrival date, pre-ordering the item is the fastest way to receive the item in question.
