NEW YORK, NY - B&H is pleased to share Fujifilm's announcement of the X-T2 Mirrorless Digital Camera and EF-X500 Flash. This highly anticipated DSLR-style camera shares the top spot in Fujifilm's lineup with the rangefinder-like X-Pro2. As such, the X-T2 gains many of the advantages of the X-Pro2, along with some new additions. Primarily, the first major upgrade is the use of a 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III APS-C sensor and the X-Processor Pro Engine for handling most of the image capture and processing needs. Video has been taken up a notch, as well, with UHD 4K video options, a first for Fujifilm. Shooters will even have access to a flat F-Log Gamma for advanced productions, and Film Simulation modes for unique, beautiful imagery.

Among the substantial improvements provided by the new sensor and processor is improved focusing speed and accuracy. Leveraging an advanced 325-point Hybrid AF system with phase-detect point covering 50% of the width and 75% of the height of the sensor area, users will be able to lock on and track moving subjects with ease. The Fuji X-T2 also opens the door for advanced customization of continuous AF, ensuring ideal settings for your specific shoot.

The camera shoots quickly too, at up to 8 fps or 11 fps when using the optional VPB-XT2 Vertical Power Booster Grip. This grip improves performance of the camera as a whole, including faster burst speeds, video recording times of up to 30 minutes, and improved battery life, since it holds two of the new NP-W126S Li-Ion Battery Packs in addition to the one in the camera. It also offers a 3.5mm headphone jack to allow for audio monitoring, especially useful when a 3.5mm microphone is plugged into the camera body.
Weather-sealed and able to perform in freezing 14°F environments, the X-T2 is built for professional demands. It also offers a larger eyecup for the 0.77x 2.76m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, which has a base refresh rate of 60 fps and a boost mode of 100 fps for clear viewing. The 3" 1.62m-dot LCD screen has been upgraded with three directions of tilt, for shooting from a variety of odd angles. Additionally, the body's ergonomics have been improved, with locking dials, a large grip, more customization, a Focus Lever joystick, and raised rear buttons.
In terms of video, UHD 4K is recorded at a high 100 Mbps bit rate for high resolution. It is also down-sampled from a 5120 x 2880 resolution, with a 1.17x crop of the sensor for improved detail in the final 3840 x 2160 image. It can even record in True 24.00 and can record internally for up to 10 minutes. Additionally, it has HDMI output for uncompressed 4:2:2 8-bit footage with an external recorder. Other adjustments can be made as well, including highlight and shadow tone, color, and sharpness.
Alongside the camera is the EF-X500 Flash, which is a new flagship product that includes high-speed sync for the latest camera models. It is weather- and dust-resistant, to match the camera, and offers a powerful guide number of 164' at ISO 100 and 105mm. The zoom range of 24-105mm matches 16-70mm in APS-C lenses, and offers versatile coverage. It also features full bounce and swivel capabilities and sports an LED light for working in video. Additionally, it introduces a wireless TTL system with four channels and three groups for remote communication and triggering of multiple flash units via an optical pulse.

A variety of accessories will be available in addition to the camera, which is itself being offered as a Kit with the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Lens that features a 27-84mm equivalent zoom range. These include more practical options like a replacement X-T2 Cover Kit and spare batteries, along with the BLC-XT2 Bottom Leather Case and the MHG-XT2 Metal Hand Grip. The EF-X500 Flash isn't being left out either, with its own EF-BP1 Battery Pack for longer shooting times and improved performance.
