Sony Prepping Mirrorless Medium Format Camera for Photokina, Report

The 24-70mm f/2.8 is often referred to as a "workhorse" lens. Many photographers swear by it, even those who prefer shooting primes, and the Camera Store TV wanted to see which company makes the best 24-70. Is it Nikon, Canon, Pentax, or Sony?

Samyang made a big splash yesterday when they debuted their very first autofocus lenses: a 50mm f/1.4 and a 14mm f/2.8, both for Sony FE mount. Today we get our first look at real world images of the 50mm, an autofocus test, and some tentative pricing info from the Photo & Imaging 2016 show!

As a photographer I spend a lot of time taking photos, editing, blogging, and posting to social media. To what end? Are the photos meant to be viewed for the 24 hour period that Facebook displays them and then just gone forever? And then I scrounge up another photo to share and the cycle just continues.

Whoa. There's a major sale going on that you may want to be aware of if you're in the market for particular cameras and lenses. Newegg is offering an amazing coupon that takes a whopping 25% off select gear.

Want to mix things up a bit, gear-wise, without breaking the bank? Photographer Mathieu Stern has an idea for you. In this short video he shares four cheap toy camera lenses that he thinks are worth your time.

Detroit-born rapper Danny Brown recently caused a ruckus when he posted an image taken in Melbourne by Michelle Grace Hunder to Instagram without permission. The photo had been taken at a music festival for Howl & Echoes, a Sydney-based online music site.

Vanity Fair photographers Mark Williams and Sara Hirakawa of Williams + Hirakawa were accused, very publicly, of Photoshop 'bullying' by Hollywood star Rumer Willis yesterday. But the photographers' official response from earlier today seems to indicate this story has been blown out of proportion.

Dumitrana, Romania-based astrophotographer Maximilian Teodorescu recently got his hands on an 1800mm f/12 Maksutov telescope and decided to put it through its paces this past weekend. He decided to test out the imaging quality by using it to photograph the International Space Station passing in front of the moon in broad daylight. The beautiful photograph above is what he ended up capturing.

Photographing movement and action has been a passion of mine since I first picked up a camera in 2003 and although my techniques and craft have changed my subject matter has held true to capturing the fleeting moment throughout the years.

Park officials at Disney's California Adventure were forced to shut down one of their roller coasters for over an hour yesterday due to a serious safety concern: a rider whipped out a selfie stick.

There are a bunch of ways to make money through Instagram: you can sell prints, attract potential clients, you can even set up an account for your pooch. But one 10-year-old in Finnish kid squeezed $10K out of Instagram without having to post a single photo... he hacked the platform instead.

When snapping pictures of wild animals in the great outdoors, there are some animals that photographers generally know to be careful around. These include creatures that are massive (e.g. moose, elephants), anything at the top of the food chain (e.g. lions, tigers, bears), and anything venomous (e.g. snakes). Well, you might also want to add the beaver to that mental list of yours. It turns out beavers can be very dangerous, and even deadly. A man over in Belarus was killed recently after getting too close to a beaver he was trying to photograph.

I rarely tell the stories of my couples on my blog, as I am more of a visual storyteller rather than a writer. But I felt this one was important.
