Xiaomi's not content with being one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. Now, it has also stepped into the field of professional photography with its very first mirrorless camera called the M1.
Introduced by Xiaoyi, a brand associated with Xiaomi, the Yi M1 is a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera. It is equipped with a 20-MegaPixel camera, supports raw shooting and has an ISO range of 100-25,600 sensitivity but lacks a built-in flash. There is also no electronic viewfinder either; instead, there is a 3-inch touchscreen LCD. However, it is still a pretty good deal for a base price of just $330.
In the design department, the camera also manages to look incredibly good and not at all like a cheap sub-$500 camera. It even resembles the Leica T, easily one of the most beautiful mirrorless cameras available today.
There are two versions of the Yi M1, the base model at $330 comes bundled with a 12-40mm f/3.5-5.6 lens while the $450 comes with a 42.5mm f/1.8 lens.
The Yi M1 may not be as advanced and adapt at taking pictures as the pioneers in the mirrorless camera category like Nikon, Canon or Leica, but it still manages to offer a good bang for the buck. It even comes with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for easy sharing of photos with your smartphone.
